Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (Habitat LA) brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. As the top nonprofit homebuilder in the greater Los Angeles area with five consecutive Charity Navigator 4-Star ratings, Habitat LA has partnered with volunteers, donors and Habitat homeowners to build, renovate and repair more than 1,000 homes locally and worldwide since 1990. The lives of thousands of individuals have been transformed as a result of having a decent and affordable place to call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes and pay an affordable mortgage. By supporting Habitat LA through volunteerism, donations and supporting affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the stability and self-reliance they need to build a better future.

At the end of last fiscal year (July 1, 2015-June 30, 2016) we were proud to report we had built, rehabilitated and repaired 77 homes. In partnership with our donors, volunteers and homebuyers we supported 235 individuals who completed our Family Investment Program and assisted and partnered with an additional 3,700 potential future homebuyers to assist them in their journey to homeownership. Once again, we were able to partner with individuals from all walks of life, including veterans and youth, to build strong and stable communities. In fact, nearly 7,000 volunteers donated over 115,000 hours of service at our construction sites, offices and ReStores. Our ReStores, home improvement thrift stores, expanded their hours and are open daily to allow the public access to reduced cost home decor, building supplies and even paint and flooring seven days a week.

Any money raised through this campaign would be invested right back into partnering with volunteers and low-income partner homebuyers to build affordable homeownership opportunities. Every amount helps us get one step closer to our mission of ending substandard housing.

Our next big goal is to raise and invest $100 million into affordable housing by 2020. We are already halfway there! With these funds we will complete an additional 1,000 affordable homes in partnership with families, children, veterans, and people with disabilities. Habitat LA will revitalize neighborhoods and communities, create better educational outcomes for children, help break the cycle of poverty, and engage tens of thousands of volunteers to make all of this happen. Our vision is to empower through homeownership, providing the foundation for low-income families and individuals to build strength, stability and self-reliance and ultimately a stronger future for their families. It's an exciting vision and we invite you to join us in Building a Greater Los Angeles.
